Standards & Protocols

An official logo or label on a cable indicating it has passed compliance testing by a standards body.

Look for specific logos: the USB-IF trident for USB cables, 'Premium High Speed' hologram for HDMI, the Thunderbolt lightning bolt, and MFi for Apple Lightning/accessories. These marks indicate third-party testing for safety and performance. Counterfeit cables often display fake certification marks.
