Multi-Gig Ethernet

Networking

Ethernet speeds between 1 Gbps and 10 Gbps (2.5G and 5G) over existing Cat5e/Cat6 cabling.

IEEE 802.3bz introduced 2.5GBASE-T and 5GBASE-T to bridge the gap between Gigabit and 10 Gigabit Ethernet. These speeds work over existing Cat5e (2.5G) and Cat6 (5G) cabling, making upgrades possible without rewiring.
