Category 6a twisted-pair cabling sustains 10 Gigabit Ethernet across the full 100-meter channel, the reach that distinguishes it from Cat6, which manages 10 Gbps only over shorter runs. Tighter internal shielding and separators suppress alien crosstalk at the bandwidth 10GBASE-T demands. It is the recommended grade for new structured-cabling installations, readying walls and risers for faster network hardware. Power over Ethernet up to 100 watts travels the same conductors, driving cameras, access points, and other powered devices. RJ45 terminations at both ends keep it compatible with standard switch and patch-panel hardware. Bulk and patch prices run $6 to $15.
