Vor EPR war USB PD auf 20V/5A (100W) begrenzt. EPR fügt drei neue Spannungsebenen hinzu — 28V, 36V und 48V — alle bei 5A und erreicht 240W. Dies ermöglicht es USB-C, Gaming-Laptops und Monitore zu versorgen, die zuvor proprietäre Rundstecker benötigten. EPR-Kabel benötigen E-Marker und müssen für die höheren Spannungen zertifiziert sein.
