La extensión de USB PD 3.1 que aumenta la entrega máxima de energía de 100W a 240W usando voltajes de 28V, 36V y 48V.
Antes de EPR, USB PD llegaba hasta 20V/5A (100W). EPR añade tres nuevos niveles de voltaje — 28V, 36V y 48V — todos a 5A, alcanzando 240W. Esto permite a USB-C alimentar laptops para gaming y monitores que anteriormente requerían conectores barrel propietarios. Los cables EPR requieren e-markers y deben estar certificados para los voltajes más altos.
