Thunderbolt 5 : Bande passante pour la prochaine décennie

Le dernier standard Thunderbolt d'Intel offre 80-120 Gbps pour les flux de travail professionnels.

## The Numbers

- **80 Gbps bidirectional** (2x Thunderbolt 4)
- **120 Gbps asymmetric** (Bandwidth Boost for displays)
- **64 Gbps PCIe tunneling** (vs 32 Gbps on TB4)

## What This Enables

- **Three 4K@144Hz displays** from a single port
- **8K@60Hz** with full HDR and wide color
- **eGPUs at near-native performance** with PCIe Gen 4 x4
- **NVMe storage arrays** exceeding 6 GB/s

## First Devices

Apple's Mac Studio M4 Max (2024) debuted Thunderbolt 5. Intel's Arrow Lake and Lunar Lake CPUs include TB5 controllers. CalDigit and OWC have announced TB5 docks.

## Cables

Thunderbolt 5 passive cables support 80 Gbps up to 1m. Active cables extend this to 2m. For longer runs, optical cables will be available in 2025.
