L'extension USB PD 3.1 qui augmente la livraison de puissance maximale de 100W à 240W en utilisant des tensions de 28V, 36V et 48V.
Avant EPR, USB PD plafonnait à 20V/5A (100W). EPR ajoute trois nouveaux niveaux de tension — 28V, 36V et 48V — tous à 5A, atteignant 240W. Cela permet à USB-C d'alimenter des ordinateurs portables gaming et des moniteurs qui nécessitaient auparavant des connecteurs propriétaires. Les câbles EPR nécessitent des E-marker et doivent être certifiés pour les tensions plus élevées.
