Les préamplis amplifient le niveau micro au niveau ligne. Le type de câble compte : XLR transporte généralement le niveau micro (symétrique), tandis que TRS et RCA transportent le niveau ligne. Utiliser le mauvais type de câble peut introduire du bruit en raison d'une inadéquation d'impédance.
