Multi-Stream Transport is the defining feature of the DisplayPort 1.2 cable, allowing several monitors to daisy-chain from a single output. Its 21.6 Gbps of HBR2 bandwidth supports 4K at 60 Hz on one display or lower-resolution panels chained together. Full-size DP connectors with latches anchor the link on desktop systems. Although newer DP revisions have raised the ceiling, 1.2 remains adequate for standard office and productivity monitors that do not exceed 4K 60 Hz. A 3-meter passive length stays well within its limits. As a mature standard, cables are inexpensive at $5 to $12.
