Antes do EPR, o USB PD tinha máximo de 20V/5A (100W). O EPR adiciona três novos níveis de tensão — 28V, 36V e 48V — todos a 5A, chegando a 240W. Cabos EPR requerem e-markers e devem ser certificados para as tensões mais altas.
