LC-LC Fiber Patch Cable

A duplex LC-to-LC fiber patch cable joins two devices through paired Lucent Connector ferrules, one transmit strand and one receive. It is a workhorse of data-center and telecom interconnects, offered in single-mode OS2 for long reach and multi-mode OM3 or OM4 for shorter high-bandwidth links. Optical transmission carries no electrical signal, so the same cord supports 100 Gbps and beyond depending on the transceivers at each end. Runs extend to 300 meters and further with single-mode glass. The small-form-factor LC connector packs densely into switch and patch-panel faceplates. Fiber-to-the-home distribution and cross-connect patching are typical uses, at prices from $5 to $20.
