ARC (Audio Return Channel) supports compressed Dolby Digital and DTS up to 5.1. eARC (Enhanced ARC) on HDMI 2.1 adds support for lossless codecs (Dolby TrueHD, DTS-HD MA) and Dolby Atmos. eARC requires an Ultra High Speed HDMI cable for full bandwidth. This eliminates the need for a separate optical/coaxial audio cable.
