A specific Alt Mode that routes native DisplayPort signals over USB-C, the most common way to output video from USB-C ports.
DP Alt Mode can use 2 or 4 of the USB-C high-speed lanes for video. With 4 lanes on DP 2.1, it supports 8K@60Hz or dual 4K@120Hz. Using only 2 lanes reserves the other 2 for USB data (USB 3.x speeds). Thunderbolt ports always support DP Alt Mode, but not all USB-C ports do — check your laptop's specifications.
