Active optical HDMI cable using fiber for long runs (10-30m) without signal loss. Supports 4K@60Hz or 8K with HDMI 2.1 fiber variants. Ideal for conference rooms and home theater.
For runs beyond the reach of copper, this active optical HDMI cable converts the signal to light internally, carrying 4K at 60 Hz or, in HDMI 2.1 fiber variants, 8K at 60 Hz across 10 to 30 meters without degradation. The conversion is directional, so the source and display ends are marked and cannot be swapped. Fiber's immunity to electromagnetic interference and its negligible attenuation over distance make it the practical choice where a passive 48 Gbps cable would fail past a few meters. Conference rooms, auditoriums, and whole-room home-theater installs are the typical settings. Prices scale with length, from about $30 to $150.
