DisplayPort Alt Mode support allows dual 4K at 60 Hz display output alongside data. At 0.8 meters it is a passive cable, the length at which 40 Gbps passes without active signal conditioning. It serves docks, external-GPU enclosures, displays, and fast external storage, and interoperates with Thunderbolt 3 and 4 hosts.
