La pérdida de voltaje a lo largo de la longitud de un cable debido a la resistencia eléctrica en los conductores.
Los cables más delgados o largos tienen mayor resistencia, causando más caída de voltaje. Un cable USB de 2 metros 28AWG puede caer 0.5V bajo carga, reduciendo significativamente la velocidad de carga. Conductores más gruesos (AWG menor) y longitudes de cable más cortas minimizan la caída de voltaje. USB PD compensa negociando voltajes iniciales más altos.
