Carrying one protocol's data inside another protocol's connection.

USB4 and Thunderbolt tunnel multiple protocols over a single USB-C cable: USB data, DisplayPort video, and PCIe storage all share the same physical connection. The host controller dynamically allocates bandwidth between tunneled protocols based on demand.
