A USB-C dock connected to a 100W charger might deliver 85W to the laptop (pass-through charging) while reserving 15W for connected peripherals. Power negotiation happens dynamically — if you plug in a power-hungry device, the dock may reduce laptop charging. Understanding power sharing prevents unexpectedly slow charging through docks.
