Thunderbolt standards combine PCIe and DisplayPort protocols into a single high-speed interface. Thunderbolt 3 (40 Gbps) unified on USB-C, Thunderbolt 4 tightened minimum requirements (dual 4K displays, 32 Gbps PCIe tunneling), and Thunderbolt 5 (80/120 Gbps) introduced PAM-3 signaling. Intel's decision to contribute Thunderbolt 3 to the USB4 specification accelerated industry-wide adoption of high-bandwidth USB-C connections.
Thunderbolt 1
2/10英特尔首款Thunderbolt，使用Mini DisplayPort连接器。两个双向通道各10 Gbps。在2011年MacBook Pro上首次亮相，支持菊花链连接最多6台设备。
Thunderbolt 2
2/10将TB1的两个10 Gbps通道聚合为单个20 Gbps数据流以支持4K视频。仍使用Mini DisplayPort。是2013-2015年Mac Pro和MacBook Pro的标准配置。
Thunderbolt 3

Thunderbolt 4
