Dünnere oder längere Kabel haben höheren Widerstand und verursachen mehr Spannungsabfall. Ein 2-Meter-28AWG-USB-Kabel kann unter Last 0,5V verlieren, was die Ladegeschwindigkeit erheblich reduziert. Dickere Leiter (niedrigere AWG) und kürzere Kabellängen minimieren Spannungsabfall. USB PD kompensiert durch Aushandlung höherer Anfangsspannungen.
