HDMI vs DisplayPort: 어떤 비디오 케이블을 사용할까

HDMI는 TV를 지배하고, DisplayPort는 PC 게이밍을 주도합니다. 각각 언제 사용해야 하는지 알아보세요.

## HDMI: The Universal Choice

**Best for**: TVs, game consoles, streaming devices, projectors

HDMI is everywhere. Every TV, game console, and streaming device has HDMI. Version 2.1 supports 4K@120Hz, 8K@60Hz, VRR, and eARC for high-quality audio.

**Limitations**: No daisy-chaining. Maximum 15m for passive cables at 4K.

## DisplayPort: The PC Standard

**Best for**: PC monitors, multi-monitor setups, high refresh rate gaming

DisplayPort has higher bandwidth than HDMI (DP 2.1 = 80 Gbps vs HDMI 2.1 = 48 Gbps). It supports daisy-chaining monitors and is standard on PC graphics cards.

**Limitations**: Almost no TVs have DisplayPort. Not on game consoles.

## Quick Decision Guide

| Scenario | Use |
|---|---|
| TV or console | HDMI |
| PC monitor (gaming) | DisplayPort |
| PC monitor (work) | Either — check available ports |
| Laptop to monitor | USB-C (carries DP signal) |
| Multi-monitor daisy chain | DisplayPort |

## USB-C: The Third Option

USB-C carries DisplayPort signal via Alt Mode. One cable for video, data, and power — the cleanest desk setup. Just make sure your laptop supports DP Alt Mode.
