DisplayPort connectors are the professional display interface standard maintained by VESA. The family includes full-size DisplayPort with its distinctive asymmetric shape and the compact Mini DisplayPort originally designed by Apple. DisplayPort 2.1 delivers up to 80 Gbps of bandwidth, supporting 16K resolution at 60 Hz with Display Stream Compression. DisplayPort Alt Mode over USB-C has made dedicated DP ports less common on laptops while maintaining backward compatibility.
